Residents of Summit and surrounding towns welcomed the opening of The Summit Farmers Market Sunday, a place residents come to purchase quality produce and other offerings, and to catch up with neighbors.
The farmers market is open June through November on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Maple Street and Deforest Avenue.
This year's market features many familar vendors, but also a handful of newbies, including "organic farmers providing organic wholesome produce-tomatoes, Jersey corn, zucchini, onions, lettuces, potatoes, flowers, fresh herbs and much more," the Summit Downtown Inc. Web site states.
