Flag Day, Honoring Area Dads Coming Up This Week

A look at what's coming up this week.

Here's a sneak peak at some of the going's on in Summit this week:

  • On Friday, Summit Elks No. 1246 is presenting a Flag Day commemoration and celebration at the Village Green at the intersection of Maple and Broad Streets beginning at 7 p.m. According to NJ.com, Performances will be by the Summit High School Brass Ensemble the Continuo Arts Foundation’s Civic Chorale, and others. The Summit Police and Summit Fire Department Honor Guard will also be on hand.
  • Summit residents share lessons learned from their dear ole dads in honor of Father's Day.
  • On Father's Day this Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon, Summit is hosting its Cars and Croissant event. Families are invited to visit the Summit Farmers Market at De Forest Avenue and Maple Street and then walk to the Bouras Building Parking lot where they can enjoy the hundreds of vintage cars that will be on hand.
  • Summer is fast approaching. Now is as good a time as any to hop on two wheels. We'll talk to a local bicycle purveyor to talk tips and tricks to getting involved in cycling and finding friends to do it with.
