Fortnightly Club Donates Lumber to Habitat
Wood from temporary emergency stair structure will be donated to Morris Habitat's ReStore and to current projects.
The Fortnightly Club of Summit recently donated lumber to Morris Habitat for Humanity.
During the recent "Show House" of Twin Maples, located at 214 Springfield Avenue, an emergency stair structure was built on the exterior of the home to meet fire codes. The Fortnightly Club is a 501c3 organization whose main focus is volunteering and giving back to the community. The donated lumber will go to the ReStore Shop and to current projects.
Summit and Morris Habitat for Humaniy are already partners on a new home project, the Summit Interfaith Community Build at 39 Morris Avenue. Habitat for Humanity, is a nonprofit organization that helps provide affordable, livable housing. Using donated materials and funds, those in need of shelter work alongside volunteers to build new homes or rehabilitate older structures.

The Fortnightly Club will also support Morris Habitat for Humanity by attending the“Raise the Roof” Kickoff Event Sunday, Oct. from 4-7 p.m. at The Grand Summit Hotel.
