Girls Basketball Hosts Annual Hoops for Hope Saturday

    Where/When: Summit High School gym; Saturday 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Why Go: All proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen For the Cure and The Adrienne Reid Scholarship Fund.
    Pricing: There will be t-shirts for sale, a concession stand and a bake sale, but admission is free.
  3. CHARITY BALL FOR THE CENTER FOR HOPE HOSPICE
    Where/When: Grand Summit Hotel; Saturday, 6:30  p.m.
    Why Go: This year’s honoree will be  Frank P. Lettera and he will receive the Coloney-Hudson Award. Mr. Lettera Frank has been the Managing Director of Hanley Funeral Home, New Dorp, Staten Island, NY, for the past twenty-two years.
    Pricing: $100 per person
  4. THE WANNABES PERFORM AT MCLYNN'S IN SPRINGFIELD
    Where/When: McLynn's, duh.; Friday 9:30 p.m.
    Why Go: The Wannabes are a cover band from Rahway specializing in British Invasion music of the 1960s. Their diverse set lists also includes Wilson Pickett and the Monkees.

  5. SWIMMING SECTIONALS V. SCOTCH PLAINS
    Where/When: Perth Amboy YMCA; Friday, 4 p.m.
    Why Go: The Boys swim team is on an epic run right now after a huge victory Tuesday over Chatham.
    Pricing: Unknown.
