Summit public works was ready for the snow, having started to make preparations since Thursday, according to one employee.

Paul Cascais, superintendent of public works said employees would be working 12 hour shifts over the weekend to ensure that critical areas stay safe from snow and ice.

Cascais described critical areas as those areas with intersections and roads such as the Route 24 service road.
