Lifeguard Captain Joe Candela and Lifeguard Dan Byers were honored by Mayor Jordan Glatt for their quick and effective response in the at the on June 30, 2011. They were asked to detonate the fireworks, an honor usually reserved for a Corporate Sponsor or benefactor.
