Nearly 600 Without Power in Summit

A spokesman for Jersey Central Power and Light confirmed that there were 595 outages in the Hill City due to thunderstorms.

A call to JCP&L confirmed that 595 customers were without power. "When you have thunder and lightening you get power outages," said spokesman Gerry Ricciardi. He couldn't confirm the cause of the outage, but said it was possible lightning struck power lines or a tree. Ricciardi said that none of the outages in the last two days were heat related.
