Fundraiser Set for Summit Promenade Park

The revitalization of the Summit Promenade Park is getting into high gear.

More than half the money to revitalize the pocket park on Springfield Avenue has already been raised. Volunteers are raising the remainder so construction can start in late summer.

Summit's Rising Stars Take Home Top Honors

For the past 18 years, the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn has been honoring the state's top high school theater productions with the Rising Star Awards.

On Tuesday, 31 awards were presented, along with five scholarships and other cash prizes. Summit High School took home six awards - the most of any school in New Jersey - inclucing top honors for Outstanding Overall Production.

Fundraising Flamingos Set to Return to Summit Lawns

The flamingos are coming back.

In an effort to raise money for Project Graduations, senior students from Summit High School are planting flamingos by the flock on front lawns around town. The successful fundraiser, which has been going on for the past eight years, raises between $2,000 and $5,000 each year while raising awareness about Project Graduation.
