Summit Farmers Market is temporarily located to Beechwood Road and Bank Street due to reconstruction at Shopper Parking Lot #2, but expects to return to its regular location on or about September 2.

“People enjoy visiting the Summit Farmers Market on Sunday mornings," says Marin Mixon, Executive Director of Summit Downtown, Inc.

The market is temporarily located at Beechwood Road and Bank Street, due to reconstruction at Shopper Parking Lot #2.  Officials expect the market to return to its regular location on or about September 2.

The first weekend in the new location saw a return of the usual visitors, but also brought in many new faces, and overall, the move was positively received. "It’s a fun place for people to meet and enjoy the outdoors, ” says Mixon.

New to the market this year is (G.I.F.T.), a donation incentive that invites visitors to the Farmers Market to buy extra or to bring surplus from their home gardens to donate to organizations that feed the hungry. The farmers have also donated surplus to G.I.F.T. and to date over 700 pounds of goods have been collected.

The Farmers Market runs from 8 am to 1 pm, rain or shine, every Sunday until November 18. For more information about the Summit Farmers Market or G.I.F.T., please call Summit Downtown, Inc., 908-277-6100 or visit www.summitdowntown.org
