Summit Planning Study, Arts and Crafts Coming Up This Week

Here's a sneak peak at what's going on in Summit this week:

  • Summit's Common Council meeting is this week. The council is set to vote on a number of issues, including capital improvements and road improvement projects. On Shadyside Avenue, Badeau Avenue, and Llewellyn Road, council is expected to approved nearly $1 million in road improvements.
  • Summit Patch is getting a whole new look this week. The site will be easier to use and will be a better place to connect and share. The best part is you'll be able to get the same high level of quality content on your mobile device as you do on your computer. Our site is being rebuilt from the ground up. The news will look better and be easier to comment on. And, you’ll find more local voices to keep you in the loop with the latest know-how and opinion
  • This Sunday, Summit is hosting the Third Annual Festival of Fine Arts & Crafts on Beechwood Road, Union Place and Springfield Avenue. The juried art and craft show, held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 23, will feature more than 75 artisans as well as entertainment.
  • In an effort to develop a market-supportable improvement plan that protects the existing assets and attributes within the Downtown and sets the stage for sustained but managed growth for future generations, Summit is asking for the public's help with a comprehensive planning study of downtown Summit and immediate surrounding areas. On Wednesday, at City Hall at 7:30 p.m., Summit is hosting a Town Hall and is encouraging the public to attend.
