Summit Residents Once Again Without Power

Nearly 300 were without power late Monday night.

Looks like power is down again in Summit and at least one councilman has taken to social media to share his thoughts about it. "A few JCP&L trucks wandering aimlessly around looking for something despite having told  they knew what the problem was," tweeted Ward 2 Councilman Patrick Hurley.

Overall, according to Firstenergycorp.com's power outage map 287 customers were without power late Monday night.

"A lot of Summit residents are without power for no apparent reason," according to another tweet by Hurley. "Lets hope this isn’t a sign of what’s to come due to patch work oct repairs," he wrote.

There have been several outtages in less than two weeks in Summit. If local officials wanted to take this up with JCP&L, they wouldn't be the first city to do so. Earlier this month the  to a council meeting to address frequent outtages. In that meeting the power company officials said trees were to blame for frequent outtages. 

A company spokesman said trees falling on power lines during a strong storm or lightning strike was possibly the cause of an outtage .
