Tickets Now On Sale for Annual Taste of Summit

Plus: Zoning Board will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Here are five things you need to know today, March 7, 2011:

  1. There will be a Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
  2. Snow may still be on the ground, but spring is finally in the air! It's time to register for your favorite programs and facilities offered by the City of Summit's Department of Community Programs. From Summer Camps to Golf Clinics, there is something for everyone. Memberships to the City's Family Aquatic Center and Municipal Golf Course are also now available. Registration is now open. Registration is available 24/7 at: https://register.communitypass.net/summit
  3. The 21st Arthouse Film Festival in Mountainside begins today and will run for 10 weeks! For a tentative list of films or to register, see the festival website.
  4. Tickets are now available for the annual Taste of Summit which will take place on April 3. Tickets are $40 per person. Additional donations and sponsors are welcome.  Advance reservations are recommended.  For details or tickets, call the Historical Society at 908-277-1747.  Chairperson of the event is Chris Siepert.
  5. It's not too late to catch the International Juried Show at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. The 25th Annual International Juried Show presents artwork in all media from artists residing in the United States and around the globe. Joan Young, Associate Curator of Contemporary Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, is this year's juror. The show, at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is open today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
