Council, Mayor Debate Proposed Budget

Public Safety impacts of line item cuts takes center stage.

This week felt like it would never end. For some reason the news wouldn't stop this week, but despite that the one thing that stands out is still the boys lacrosse team's emotional victory over Madison in the Group I championship game. But, here's the full rundown of all the goodness from this week:

On Monday, we started out with a piece on more of the art work cropping around the city this season, police released a sketch of the luring suspect they are looking for, we brought you a video and photos from the Summit High School prom, and the budget debate kicked into high gear when Mayor Jordan Glatt released a statement on his concerns over line item reductions to police and fire.

On Tuesday, we brought you coverage from the girls lacrosse team's season-ending loss to Chatham, announced the approval of variances by the Planning Board for the Morris Avenue Promenade, and brought you the weekly police blotter.

On Thursday, we pretty much spent the day basking in the glory of the boys lacrosse team's 10-4 victory over Madison in the Group I championship but we also carried a statement from PBA #55 state delegate Michael Freeman on the budget cuts.
