Week in Review: Residents Demand Action on Deadly Intersection

Busy week saw meetings of the planning board, common council and board of education.

It was another busy fall week in Summit and we even had a day of gusty winds! Here's the rundown in case you were out of town or just missed the news of the week:

On Monday, we announced the start of fire prevention week, had a gallery of photos from Sunday's Raise the Roof Fundraising kick-off for the Habitat for Humanity Interfaith Community Build, met Laura Graff Coburn, democratic canidate for Ward II, and had a report from a press conference by the Union County Prosecuter's office on a new public safety initiative.

On Tuesday, you met Steve Murphy, democratic candidate for at-large, had a report from Monday's zoning board meeting, and reported on the concern of many neighbors surrounding the Mountain Avenue accident site that claimed the life of a Summit resident.

On Wedneday, we had a report from the common council meeting, met Rich Madden, republican candidate for Ward II, had reports from several sporting events, and told you Summit High School music teacher Wayne Mallette has been selected to conduct a special choir.

On Thursday, Cindy reviewed Beacon Hill Tavern, we met Nuris Portuondo, republicn candidate for Ward I, and had a report from Wednesday's volleyball game.
