Week in Review: Snow, Snow and More Snow Coming

Major snowstorm closes schools for two days and even city hall on Wednesday.

Summit's still digging out from the huge storm that dumped more than a foot on the Hill City this week. But the news didn't stop just because of the white out. Here's this week's rundown:

On Monday, we brought you a gallery from Summit Downtown Inc.'s Lego Build event which helped raise money for the Historical Society, reported that Summit Thai is offering a 10 percent discount this month in order to donate a portion of their profits to the Red Cross for disaster relief in Haiti, brought you Assemblyman Jon Bramnick's reaction to Gov. Chris Christie's plans to revamp state employee pension and benefits plans, and rounded up local bakeries for their hot items for Valentine's Day.

On Tuesday, we gave you suggestions for creative ways to do flowers this Valentine's Day, brought you the first police blotter in more than a month, announced schools would close Wednesday for the snowstorm, brought you coverage from the Board of Education meeting, and brought you coverage of the boys ice hockey game.

On Wednesday, Patch pretty much tracked down the storm all day. But we also had several games from Tuesday night to bring you coverage from: girls basketball, boys basketball and girls ice hockey, and about the help the Colonial Crossroads Chapter of the Red Cross provided to those displaced in a fire in Springfield earlier this week.

On Thursday, we gave you suggestions for great gifts for that special man in your life and a rundown of the restaurants in town offering special prices and/or special menus for the holiday.
