WELCOME TO SUMMIT 07901

How can one word "Summit" have so many meanings, memories and visions?

SUMMIT 07901: What comes to mind when you see SUMMIT 07901? I started a list of possibilities: shop, dine, work, train, bus, sports, exercise, medical, worship... The word association was endless as the list became longer and longer and I still had plenty to add.

HOME:  So I then tried to create a shorter list and focus on the response HOME. You live in Summit; you want to live in Summit; you are moving to or from Summit; you have friends, parents or relatives who live in Summit; or you stayed, visited or vacationed in Summit. This list also continued on and on.

BIRTHPLACE: We are so fortunate to have Overlook Hospital as one of our valued neighbors.  You may have been born in Summit, gotten well or received stitches in Summit, visited a patient or volunteered at Summit Hospital.

HISTORICAL: Summit is rich with history offering a tapestry of heritage and traditions. This Saturday and Sunday you can participate in a county-wide event, Four Centuries in a Weekend, a journey through hundreds of years of local history at significant sites.  Four of these sites are located in Summit and include the 1741 Carter House, which is home of the Summit Historical Society, Reeves-Reed Arboretum, The Summit Playhouse and Twin Maples, the home of The Fortnightly Club, all historical designated properties and will be open for free tours. A special treat for the young and old alike will be to visit the Summit Fire Department’s 1927 fire engine "The Chemical" which will be on display at the Carter House. Dress your little ones in red or their favorite Summit-themed outfits and bring your camera to snap a photo. Think of holiday card possibilities!

CALLING ALL HILLTOPPERS: This weekend you can don on your Summit Hilltopper colors of maroon and gold for the First Annual Hilltopper Alumni Weekend. All Summit High School alumni are invited back to Summit to attend a weekend of educational, sporting, entertaining, and social events. Come home for the planned 3-day events which promise to be full of excitement.
