Holy Moses by Washington or How I Lifted the No-Halloween Lawn Decorations Ban

Getting over my Halloween grinchiness.

Love this Fosse-esque video and the awesomely talented Aussie doing the singing and dancing alongside her cast of characters: http://www.washingtonmusic.com.au/

Her name's Megan but she goes by just her last name. Whatever.  And I want to get this out of the way: Calm down Little Monsters . . . there are similarities here with Gaga but the same way they exist between Lily Allen and Adele and I'm gonna say Washington's going for something different musically. She's also Australian so comes from that same musicale background as Baz Luhrman and Kylie Minogue (the ultimate showgirl) and I think her voice sounds much more like Kate Bush's than anybody.  She's also capable of making arty, indie vids such as this for "Halloween" http://bit.ly/pSBKrI

Which is a nice segue. I'm finding it all rather irritating that Halloween's such a big deal. Maybe it has been for a while but I've finally pulled my head out of the sand. And I was fighting it and fighting it; "Leave me alone. leave me alone." Trying to downplay it with the kiddios but they would just come back at me stronger with more youthful passion and exuberance and even tho "I know I'll pay for this . . (I called) Holy Moses" and I caved. Not entirely. There will be no massive spiders and webs adorning my house or zombified babies crawling around my lawn. Just some brightly colored pumpkins, a ghost created out of a Calvin Klein pillowcase and Chanel Nail Polish and, a Zombie hub made with the boys. Mostly cheerful sorts of decorations. Nothing ooey or gooey or dreadful. A moms gotta have some standards, right?
