Community Corner

A New Environmental Ethic at the Table of Abraham

If we are to create a sustainable future for the human community and the planet we inhabit, religions need to be involved. Our values influence personal decisions as well as public policy. Over a delicious Turkish lunch provided by Peace Islands Institute and through the lens of the Abrahamic faith traditions, consider our call to embrace a new environmental ethic. Danny Martin PhD,  one of the founders and conveners of the Thomas Berry Forum for Ecological Dialogue at Iona College; Rabbi Lawrence Troster, Greenfaith's Rabbinic Scholar in Residence and co-founder of the Greenfaith Fellowship Program; and Harun Burak Alacadog, Director of Interfaith Affairs at Peace Islands Institute will be on the panel. You can attend the event at no charge although goodwill offerings will be welcomed. Pre-registration is required by February 21st. You can do this online at interweave.org or call 908-277-2120.
