Celebrate National Dance Day 2014 with The Connection

Everyone is welcome to celebrate National Dance Day,
Saturday, July 26th, with The Connection! All activities are free
and open to the public. Classes for Children and Adults will begin at 9:00am.


Adult classes include: Zumba, Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip Hop, Broadway and
Barre Sculpt. Children’s classes include: You and Me Dance, Preschool Dance,
School Aged Dance, Tween/Teen and a Dance Party! Donations are welcome; all
proceeds will be divided between The Connection and the Dizzy Feet Foundation.



National Dance Day Adult Class Schedule: 9am Barre Sculpt-
Start the day with a great low impact, dancer’s workout that integrates the fat
burning format of interval training, the muscle shaping techniques of
isometrics and the elongation principles of dance conditioning.



10am -Continue
working out with a high energy dance/fitness class and learn the National Dance
Day Everyday Routine.

10:30 features a dance performance by The
Connection’s CREW Dance Team.



11am Jazz -All
levels, a jazz combination will be taught using movements from all different
styles of jazz.

12pm Ballet/Lyrical- Come enjoy a class that encourages
creativity through movement. Wear jazz shoes, ballet shoes, socks, or go
barefoot. Suitable for all levels.



1pm Hip Hop- This is an upbeat dance class using basic but
innovative styles of hip hop to pop music. No experience necessary.  Students will learn the Official National
Dance Day Advanced Routine.



2pm Broadway –A
cardio based dance class that begins with breathing and stretching warm-up,
 moves into a dance combination ranging from up tempo jazz to lyrical
contemporary all with a "broadway" style and ends with stretching and
cool down. Music based on present day to classic Broadway hits. It focuses
on heart health, strength, balance, flexibility and fun.



 1-2pm – TWEEN/TEEN contemporary -Take a contemporary dance class that places emphasis on the
connection between mind and body, encouraging dancers to explore their emotions
through dances that push against traditional boundaries. Wear jazz shoes,
ballet shoes, socks, or go barefoot. Suitable for all levels. 



National Dance Day Children’s Class Schedule: 10:30- Dance
Team Performance. 10:45– Dance Party in the Big Gym. 11:00 -You & Me Dance
(Under 3 with a parent) You and Me Dance will consist of a parent/child warm
up, creative movement activities and dance games.



Dance classes for children ages 3 and up will consist of a
warm up, a short and fun dance routine and dance games.  Older students
will learn the official National Dance Day Everybody Routines.
