"Brother Outsider" Film viewing and discussion

Chatham-Summit Quaker Meeting invites the public to view the award-winning film about the "lost prophet" of the civil rights movement. 


5:30 p.m light supper; 6:15 p.m. film viewing; 8:00 p.m. dessert and discussion.


Rustin, an influential African-American Quaker, orchestrated the historic 1963 March on Washington.  He is credited with persuading Martin Luther King and his advisors to make Gandhian nonviolence a key part of the civil rights movement.  Come learn about his life, his legacy, his struggle to live openly and productively as a gay man, and his continuing relevance to civil and human rights today.
