Introduction Recombinant Protein in E. coli

Microorganisms such as bacteria Escherichia coli enterobacterias are outstanding plants for the expression of recombinant proteins. An expression system for production of recombinant proteins in E. coli usually involves a combination of a plasmid and a strain of E. coli. The main purpose of the expression of the recombinant protein is often to get a high degree of accumulation of soluble product in the bacterial cell. This strategy is not always accepted by the metabolic system of the host and in some situations the response to cellular stress is. Another response found in recombinant systems is the accumulation of target proteins in insoluble aggregates known as inclusion bodies. These proteins are added in general and thus misfolded biologically inactive.
