Maundy Thursday 12 noon service at St. John's, Summit

The journey in Holy Week continues at St. John's Lutheran Church on Maundy Thursday in services at 12:00 noon and 7:30 PM. Maundy Thursday begins the Triduum, or the Great Three Days--Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil. "Maundy" comes from the Latin "mandatum," which means "mandate" or "commandment." We remember that at the Last Supper Jesus gives us a new commandment to love one another. We begin the service in the upper room with Jesus sharing a meal with his friends, yet by the end of the service we are witnesses to the betrayal and passion of Christ. All are welcome to worship at 587 Springfield Ave., Summit, NJ 07901. For more information, visit St. John's on the web @ stjohnssummit.org or connect on Facebook @ StJohnsSummit.
