Music at the Library: Salsa
Maraca & Guiro: Two Taino Instruments in the 21st Century
Musician/historian Jose Obando will give a talk and musical demonstration for all ages, featuring instruments for the audience to use.
Mr. Obando, a specialist on the history of Salsa, has been a consultant to the Metropolitan Musaeum of Art, the Julliard School of Music, and the New York Public Library, among others. He is the former Executive Director of the Salsa Museum in Spanish Harlem.
