Play Five by Five – Summit’s Own Game

Summit
Downtown, Inc. is sponsoring “Five by
Five,” a new and fun interactive game for customers to play while shopping in
downtown Summit.

Playing is easy! Just visit any of the over 70 participating businesses in the downtown to pick up a game card and
begin playing.  “Five by Five” posters
will be displayed in the windows of participating merchants and you can play wherever you see this sign.

The game card is similar to a Bingo card but instead of five columns


headed with a letter spelling out the word B I N G O, each column of the “Five


by Five” game card will feature a street in the downtown shopping


district. The street name headings are


Beechwood Road, Maple Street, Springfield Avenue, Union Place and Summit



Avenue.

Whenever a customer makes a purchase at a business on any of the five


streets, the merchant will place a sticker in the column under their street


heading.  The object of the game is to


complete a row of five and this can be done by playing horizontally, vertically


or diagonally. The customer decides how



they want to play. You can visit five


different businesses on the same street and make a purchase at each, or visit


five different streets and make a purchase at one business on each of the


streets.

Once five spaces in a row have been completed, the game card is left with


the merchant who placed the last sticker on the card and that shopper will be


entered into a random drawing to win one of ten $50 Summit gift certificates. You


must be 18 years or older to play.  Winners will be notified by phone or email.

of our own downtown merchants came up with the “Five by Five” game concept and


we are very excited to offer shoppers a chance to win one of ten $50 Summit



gift certificates.  We hope that


customers will enjoy playing at their local favorites as well as trying out


something new.”
