Shakespeare on the Green: A Midsummer Night's Dream

The Next Stage Ensemble of the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ will perform a Midsummer Night's Dream on the Village Green. Join us for this open-air presentation of William Shakespeare's classic comedy. This program is sponsored by the Summit Free Public Library.

Bring a picnic dinner or grab a pizza and an ice cream from our vendors on the green. Please bring your own blankets or lawn chairs for seating. In case of rain, the performance will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church (seating limit 250).

When starry-eyed young lovers and zany would-be actors cross paths with mischief-making fairies in a magical forest, the result is one of the world's most uproarious comedies.Midsummer Night's Dream is the ideal "first Shakespeare" for young people, and a riotous roller-coaster ride for teens, adults and Shakespeare lovers of all ages!

The Next Stage Ensemble was created to foster the work of early career actors and to train them in ensemble-based performance techniques.
