The Marriage of Figaro

The Stony Hill Players presents Mozart's comedic masterpiece, sung in English and set in modern day New Jersey.  The plot of The Marriage of Figaro covers a single day's crazy antics in the mansion of a Senator. The story begins with the Senator scheming to obtain the favors of Susanna, his advisor Figaro's bride-to-be, and prevent their wedding. While the Senator tries to force Susanna into his bed, and Figaro into marriage to another, the Senator's wife conspires with Susanna and Figaro to expose his plot and bring the wayward husband back to his faithful wife.

Mozart's music is miraculous, as always, and the story is hilarious and, as one critic said, "so engrossing you almost forget you're watching an opera!"
