“Shop for SAGE”

SAGE Eldercare will hold its first “Shop for SAGE” event on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 10 am to 7 pm at 290 Broad Street in Summit.  Local artisans will be on hand to sell elegant handbags, chic fashion and jewelry, fabulous artwork, homemade treats, dazzling stationery, fragrant lotions and soaps and more! 

“We are very excited to bring together some unique vendors who are willing to help support SAGE Eldercare services and programs,” stated Dawn Knill, Director of Development for SAGE.  “This is a great opportunity for getting the perfect Mother’s Day gift, graduation presents, year-end teacher gifts and more,” she added.

SAGE Resale Shop – Rose Rittweger, Summit Featuring a variety of goods, the SAGE Resale Shop always has lots of interesting, unique items in the store.  The shop’s unusual variety and exceptional quality of goods, along with reasonable prices, have attracted shoppers and collectors since it opened its doors in 1959.  For this sale, they will be bringing a collection of items from the shop, possibly to include housewares, jewelry, bric-a-brac, collectibles, and books.  Be sure to stop by and see what treasures you can find!  More information on the shop can be found at www.sageeldercare.org.  

The Blue Bird -- Alison McNerney, Mendham Alison McNerney’s granny had fabulous style – her heart was always covered with sparkle, her fingers glittered, her ears were weighted with color and her presence was heard before she entered a room as her arms jingled as bangles and bracelets made their music.  And so began her introduction to the power of costume jewelry.  The Blue Bird is a collection of vintage jewelry from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.  Many of the pieces are signed:  Miriam Haskell, Hattie Carnegie, Alice Caviness, Vendome, Trifari, Hobe, to name a few.  Vintage jewelry tends to be bold, fanciful, whimsical, and fun – it is jewelry that, as Rachel Zoe says, “starts a conversation.”  So, some to the sale to start a conversation with Alison from The Blue Bird!   Additionally, Jojo’s Bags & Things (Johanna Fiorito-Hale, New Providence), Sandella Art (Sandy Marmorato, Summit), Secret Garden Soap of Madison (Tracee Palmer, Madison), Take A Bough, Inc.
