Since 2007, Bartlett Tree Experts has been providing virtually round the clock care to the 400+ Swamp White Oaks that were hand selected for planting at the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan.  We will take you through the ups and downs as well as the ins and outs of caring for trees in above ground planters in the northeast, the challenges of maintaining proper soil moisture under varying weather conditions with highly varied soil types, and the pressures of responding to the political trade winds in NYC.  This presentation will review the unique “floating” nature of the 9/11 Memorial Plaza and the micro-climate we’ve encountered amongst the buildings and hardscape.  Mr. Dubin holds a B.S. Degree in Plant Science from Cook College, Rutgers University.  After graduation, he went to work as a stockbroker for Herzfeld and Stern, which was acquired by Gruntal & Co.  In January 1989 he joined the F. A. Bartlett Tree Expert Co. in Westchester County, New York as an Arborist Representative.  In 1993 he was promoted and transferred to Local Manager in Warren, New Jersey and subsequently became District Manager and then Assistant Division Manager for the Metropolitan Division in April, 1999.

Wayne currently serves as Vice-President and Division Manager for New Jersey and New York (excluding Long Island) managing six offices and twenty-three Arborist Representatives.  He has a successful track record in sales for over thirty years.
