NerdWallet Names Summit No. 8 Town in NJ for Young Families

The consumer-advocacy website chose the top 10 towns in the Garden State for growing families based on school rankings and economic data.

Summit is one of the top 10 places in New Jersey to raise a family, according to NerdWallet, a consumer-advocacy website.

The site analyzed national and statewide data in five categories to come up with the list:

  1. Public school rating
  2. Median home value
  3. Ongoing cost of homeownership
  4. Median income
  5. Economic growth
To bolster its point, NerdWallet offered a short but flattering description of Summit on the website:

Summit is a city in Union County. The community’s 21,000 residents speak over 35 languages. Its six square miles include parks and fields, a nine-hole, par-three golf course and an aquatics center. From May to November, there is also a farmer’s market at DeForest and Maple.

Sayreville was named No. 1, while Union County neighbor Westfield came in at No. 4.
