Price has expanded her business from traditional home staging to offering interior re-design services, as the clients she helps in the sales process want to utilize her trained eye to help stamp their personal brand on the design of their new homes as well.

One of her RESA recognized award-winning projects involved helping a client downsize from an antique-filled larger home to a “younger” more contemporary townhome.

“It’s about helping people validate who they are through the design of their home,” she said.  “My goal was to help the client, who was in the real estate business herself, part with a lot of her possessions without giving up a sense of who she was.”

Her other award-winning project was to assist a California couple in their move from a modern open-floor plan home with a lot of “oversized and overstuffed” items to a traditional Colonial Summit home.

Unlike a traditional interior designer who shops for new, often expensive items, a goal of an effective re-design is to help clients reuse their own possessions to create rooms that reflect their personality at a fraction of the cost and in a much more timely manner. Price offers interior re-design services and home staging for property sales.

“Use what you have,” Price said.  “Re-designing a room is the newest way to ‘go green.’  I listen to my clients to learn how they intend to use the space and then show them how they can repurpose and reuse their much-loved items while increasing their home’s function and beauty.”

“There are so many reasons to re-design,” she continued.  “Combining two households, moving to a bigger home, downsizing, even becoming empty nesters, people living through these scenarios would benefit greatly with a re-design project; it is so much more than just placing items around a room. Effective re-design is all about listening to your client and helping them create a home that reflects completely their personality and where they are in their lives currently.”

Price’s continued goal is to help her staging clients transform into re-design clients.

“Proper staging involves editing the contents of a home so that what potential buyers see—both in online photographs and when they visit the home—is the most optimum format to present the home,” said Price.  “This has been proven time and time again to increase the perceived value of a home while decreasing the length of time it is on the market.”

The winners will be presented with their awards at the annual Home Staging Industry Awards convention in Las Vegas in January of 2014.
