Shakespeare, Faulkner, and Obama?

Republican Blog

Thankfully, the Democratic convention is over.  While CNN ran a real time attempt to discredit comments made by Republicans during the Republican convention, and did not show any of the speeches by successful minorities, the lame stream media gave all of the Democratic speakers a pass on what many times were blatant lies.  I guess that is just the way it is, but isn't the media supposed to be the arbiter of truth?

Our economy is in the tank, people are increasingly suffering, and Obama is not held accountable.   As we approach the end of Obama's first term, still without a budget, still with unemployment over 8%, still with a growing deficit that now exceeds $16 trillion dollars, still without a budget, still with discouraged workers leaving the workforce or taking lower paying less skilled jobs out of necessity, Obama is still looking us in the eye and expecting us to once again buy his hope and change, with no real change in his tired platform. "It is a tale told by 'Obama,' full of sound and fury, signifying nothing!"

Yes, the unemployment rate dropped from 8.3% to 8.1% in August.  But, 360,000. more discouraged workers left the workforce.  If we held the workforce participation rate constant from the day Obama took office, the real unemployment rate now would be 11.7%!  If we counted the "underemployed" in this figure, it would be over 17%!  This is important, since higher skilled and paid jobs have been most of the jobs lost during the Obama administration, and the small number of jobs added have been in less skilled, lower paid positions.  They have been disproportionately in government jobs and jobs arbitrarily created by inefficient government spending in industries that cannot stand on their own competitively.  Does Solyndra ring a bell?  The vast amounts of our money dumped into the auto industry to "save" it was largely used to shore up vastly underfunded labor pension plans.  What about our retirement plans?  It is our money after all, and we will never get it back.

More government spending, more government jobs, more not so competitive companies or industries being blessed with Obama's gift of taxpayer funds, and more regulations and taxation will never solve our problems.

Look at the results of Reagan's policies to see where we can go, and look at Greece and other failing socialist economies to see were we are going without real hope and change now!

Obama himself, while selling one of his large stimulus packages, said that if unemployment did not decline to under 6% based on that stimulus spending, he would not expect to earn a second term.  He has not produced on any of his campaign promises.  He damage controls weekly polls rather than leading.  It is time to hold him to his word, give him and everyone in his administration a certificate of participation, and send them home!  Then we can begin working on solving our economic issues, which we owe to our children, grandchildren and beyond!
