President Obama and his fellow Democrats are either idiots or deliberately trying to destroy their own economy." I will give you until the end of this blog post to decide who authored this quote.
Forty-two consecutive months of 8+% unemployment, and $5 trillion in additional deficit later, the Obama promised 6% unemployment remains a pipe dream of the past. Stimulus, Obamacare, Cap and Trade, all keystones of Obama's first term, all are highly unpopular (when was the last time you heard them mentioned by the Obama administration?), unaffordable, and and all serve to deteriorate our competitive position in the world, and our national security. The vast amount of money borrowed in the name of stimulus spending was not spent on much needed public projects, but on bailing out companies and union pension plans for Obama supporters. Our roads are crumbling, our bridges are falling down, and we can proudly point to Solyndra as Obama's crown jewel of public investment in private projects to stimulate the economy. I feel proud...do you?
Time and time again history has shown us that capitalism, private investment in free markets, is the most powerful force of economic growth. Conversely, the public sector interfering in private markets, taking limited resources from private sector investment and inefficiently squandering those resources, has time and time again proven to be the downfall of economy after economy.

While I wish that the premise of this post was purely academic in nature, alarmingly it is not. As the Obama administration wrecklessly deficit spends us into fewer and fewer fianancial options, our enemies around the world are becoming stronger and stronger. China already owns us, has natural resources just beginning to be developed, and has the connections and funds to become a fearsome worldwide military force when they choose to do so. Russia, our old cold war foe who we spent into collapse as they finally assigned too many of their resources to their military at the expense of the masses, is rising from the ashes, gaining wealth and beginning to test US worldwide military superiority.
Does the US have he resources to fight one war with a significant world power now? Do we have the resources to fight more than one war with significant world powers now? More importantly, do we have the wherewithal to field a military force of the size and scope necessary to avert having to fight these wars? Years ago there was little question that we could do whatever we needed to do to defend our country and our allies. With the Obama administration's policies, we continue to fall deeper and deeper into debt and we continue to become weaker and weaker in the eyes of the world.
