Survey: Should Summit Athletes Get a Break From High School Gym?

Give your opinion on study hall relief for athletes!

The lives of many students at Summit High School, including myself, are filled with many time consuming activities. So, many kids are forced to complete their homework in the late evening hours after they get home from their extracurricular activities.

Being one of these students, I began to ponder ideas to make my schedule more manageable. I then thought of my gym period. I am a dancer, and spend my afternoons working out and dancing of course. Personally, I believe that it seems pointless for me and many other athletes to do the miniscule amount of physical activity we do in gym in addition to rigorous classes, practices, and games. So, I thought that it would be very beneficial to all athletes if their gym period was replaced with a study hall. This would be the perfect opportunity to get a head start on their homework.

So, I have created a small survey regarding this topic, and I would love any high school student or parent who reads this to follow the link and answer 6 easy questions:

Please comment with any opinions regarding the topic or the survey. I want to hear what the people of Summit have to say. By receiving as much feedback as possible, I will be able to create a strong argument to present to the Board of Education. Thanks!
