I'm Finally Back! After a Long Wonderful Summer Vacation at Auction Houses, Flea Markets and Garage Sales!!

A fun filled summer vacation at Auction Houses, Flea Markets, and Garage Sales at the Jersey shore!

Well I'm finally back! And boy, do I have a lot of great experiences and stories to start telling you all about from this past summer. I won't put it all in one blog because I'd be blogging all day!

I spent the last three months extremely busy getting my business "Decorate on a Dime" off the ground and "Finding My Awesome Finds."  On top of that I exeperienced a Fire at my house in Summit, an Earthquake, a Hurricane, Opened my business at The Point Pleasant AntiqueCenter, and trained and competed in a triathlon at the Jersey Shore. People wait a whole lifetime to experience what I experienced in three months.  Pretty Shocking! That's why you haven't seen a blog from me this summer.

Well, the summer is over and I'm back to blogging.  Where should I start?  I got some space for all my "Great Finds" at The Point Pleasant Antique Center on Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant, NJ.  So, this is where you can come and see all my great finds! Bottom line, I had no choice; there was no more room at my beach house left to store one more piece!  My boys were starting to complain that they couldn't get their bikes out of the garage or get into their rooms!  Obviously, I'm obsessed!  But, it's all good now since I moved most of my "Finds" into my new space.

The Problem with summer is that it is just too much fun for "Pickers."  I spent every other Saturday at an Auction House in Point Pleasant, NJ.  Which was so much fun and exciting!  This is where you actually get a bid number when you walk in and they auction the items off one by one for hours.  You see the same characters every other week and you bid against these characters that you have gotton to know. It's like a competitive game.  Also, there is usually a preview the day before so you can see if you would be interested in the merchandise for sale.  The Auction people loved me.  My paddle was raised constantly and so were the prices for them. This is where I found my favorite pieces at the best prices! At an auction, it's the thrill of your bid being accepted, that makes it so exciting! Sometimes, they would auction off huge boxes filled with unknown contents and you didn't know what you actually got till you got home.  It was like getting the best prize at the bottom of a CrackerJack box.

Besides going to the Auction Houses, I spent alot of time at Flea Markets and Garage Sales.  My "Favorite Find" this summer was a double Ship Wheel cocktail table that I got at The Collingswood Flea Market with my boys this Labor Day weekend.  It's really cool.  It's an original Ship Wheel on the bottom with a brass piece that connects  to the second original Ship Wheel on top.  It's finished with a glass top.  This piece would look great in any beach house, including my own; but I have no room to keep it!   Check it out at my new space where I have it displayed.
