Wow! That's all I have to say! I had the weekend of all weekends when it comes to unique "Finds" and I can't wait to show everybody these incredible pieces. I've set the date for my "Big Sale!) It's starting Thursday, June 16 and will go until Saturday, June 18 at my house at the beach. If your interested in getting an evite, contact me directly or leave me a comment on my Blog and I'll make sure I send you an invitation. But more important lets talk about my weekend and all my great "Finds."
It started off Friday morning with a bang. I don't know what it is about 8 a.m. for me but its always a problem. Remember my fire at my house in Summit? That started at 8 a.m., too! I had pulled into 7-11 to get coffee before going to the Flea Market and as I took my American Express Card out to pay it snapped in half horizontally. You had to see my face, I was speechless! I didn't know how I was going to survive the weekend without my Amex card! NO FOOD, NO GAS, NO FINDS! The guy behind the counter, his face dropped, too! He helped me tape it together with packing tape and then we slid the card through the machine to see if it still worked. It did! Thank God the black strip didn't get damaged. What a sigh of relief for me!
From there I ventured across the street to get gas. Once again, I handed the guy my American Express Card to pay and I said, "Please be careful my card just snapped in half but it still works. It's taped together." He came back a minute later and said, "I have a small problem, your Amex Card is stuck in my machine and I can't get it out!" This time my mouth was on the ground. How could this happen to me twice? I looked at the guy and I said,"Go get your tool box because I'm not leaving here without my American Express Card." After 15 minutes of us both struggling with the plyers, we finally got the card out in one piece. I couldn't believe it, what a way to start your day!
It only got better from there. I went to The Collingswood Flea Market and I got there just in time for the good stuff. I did not do my usual two laps; but this time I was hidden behind my sun glasses. As I walked around a couple of the vendors had recognized me. They said, "Hey your that women who writes for the Summit Patch online newspaper. We're following you online." It's amazing, I didn't realize how many people read my Blogs. They all wanted me to buy from them so I would write about them.
I purchased so many really "Cool Finds" that day. It's too funny; everything I bought was HUGE, HEAVY, and ROUND! When your buying at a Flea Market it seems to go in cycles that way and you end up getting similar shaped things. Check out my photos and you'll understand what I'm talking about. It took me forever to squeeze all my HUGE, HEAVY, and ROUND finds into my jeep and get them home. I felt like it was a jigsaw puzzle and I couldn't find where the last pieces went!
After the Flea Market on Friday, I didn't think it could get any better; but I was wrong! On Saturday, I went to the All Town Garage Sales in Mantaloking, Bay Head, and Point Pleasant with my friend Wendy. Once again, I hit GOLD! I bought the most beautiful antique wooden, hand painted bar cart. I like it so much that I hope I can actually sell it! Check out the two photos of this unique piece and you will understand why I might not want to sell it. On top of that "Fabulous Find," I got a whole slew of other cool and unique pieces; and I can't wait for you all to see them.
Sunday rolled around and I thought my weekend of "Finding Finds" was over. Once again, I was wrong! I drove up to Summit, thoroughly exhausted from two days of hard work; and I stumbled across another Flea Market at the Temple around the corner from my house. I had no expectations, but thought what do I have to lose. Let me just take a quick peak. I walked out of there with the most amazing Antique, Gold Framed Oil Painting. I didn't understand why nobody bought it. The price was right and it was breathtaking! As soon as I purchased it, everybody became interested in it. It always seems to go that way! Too funny, YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE; that's one of my favorite sayings. As I put the oil painting into my jeep, I could sense everybody was jealous of my "Find."
Well my weekend was finally over! Let me sum it all up; what an amazing weekend of "Fabulous Finds," and the count down for my BIG SALE is here, just 10 days to go! Hope to see you all and I can't wait for everybody to finally see all these great "Finds." Stay tuned: I'm sure there will be more "Fabulous Finds" this week. You never know what I will stumble across.
