JLS Announces New Board of Directors Led By President Colleen Markley

The Junior League of Summit has announced the Board of Directors for the 2013-14 year. The Board will be led by President Colleen Markley of Chatham who succeeds Heather Speas. Mrs. Markley will serve a one-year term.

Joining Markley is a group of women with a variety of personal, educational, and professional backgrounds who share the organization’s commitment to community service. They are: Jolie Steppe, President-Elect; Kristin Pustylnik, Administrative VP; Michelle Davis, Treasurer; Janine Wallace, Assistant Treasurer; Laura Bojanowski, Membership VP; Michelle DeMuth, Community VP; Kate Walden, Assistant Community VP; Betsy Phillips and Linda Massengill, Sustainer Co-VPs; Laura Magedoff, Nominating Placement Chair; Elizabeth Dutkewych, Thrift Shop Committee Chair; and Rachel Zucker, PR/Marketing Chair.

Markley and the Board of Directors will lead the organization this year in addressing the community’s toughest challenges. When asked about the prospects of her leadership role, Markley said, “I think it's so important for women to truly understand their potential. The JLS is a powerful group of women, and when women get together we can do amazing things.  We can change our world and community. When the Junior League got its start, women didn't even have the right to vote. Now, we're a group of 155,000 women over four countries armed with training, support and the camaraderie of one another. Watch and see what we can do!"
