JLS Community Leadership Forum Well-Received

About 70 people attended a fundraising training session hosted by the Junior League of Summit (JLS) Friday, April 25th. The event, held at Temple Sinai in Summit, was the organization's second forum for nonprofit organizations this year.

"Fundraising Challenges in a Changing World," was led by national speaker and trainer, Carol Scott.  Scott  discussed the entire fundraising landscape and addressed fundraising with a limited staff. According to results from a recent survey conducted locally by the JLS, fundraising is the biggest issue many nonprofit organizations face. The training session was well-received.

"The presentation by Carol Scott was full of useful information and I learned a great deal," said Dr. Miles MacMahon, President of Senior Connections.  "I now have an even greater appreciation of the efforts of the JLS on behalf of the non-profit organizations of Summit. The forum gave me the chance to learn the strategies and techniques that we can apply as we strive to keep the Senior Connection Bus operating as a permanent service in Summit."

The Community Leadership Forum was free of charge and open to the public. The JLS will host another training event for the community September 18th.
