Junior League Invites Applications for Grants
The Junior League of Summit, 37 DeForest Ave., invites community agencies to apply for the League's Community Impact Grants for more than $1,000 (up to $55,000) and Focus Grants for less than $1,000. The deadline for grant applications is November 1, and applications are available on the League's website at www.jlsummit.org.
To receive a grant, community organizations must demonstrate a need that falls within the League’s mission and preferably within its focus area of promoting health and wellness for children. The Junior League of Summit's community assistance goal is to affect positive community change through voluntarism by providing financial support to non-profit organizations serving Summit, Chatham, New Providence and Berkeley Heights.
Over the years, the Junior League of Summit has provided support to many community organizations through grants. Last year, the JLS awarded $40,000 across thirteen organizations, including Family Promise, SAGE Eldercare, Area Baby Center, CASA of Union County, Overlook Hospital, and the Public Arts Council of Chatham Borough. This year the Junior League of Summit will award $55,000 in grants to the community.
