JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SUMMIT ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS LED BY PRESIDENT JOLIE STEPPE

SUMMIT, NEW JERSEY June 1, 2014 — The Junior League of Summit is proud to announce the new Board of Directors for the 2014-15 year. The Board will be led by President Jolie Steppe of Summit who succeeds Colleen Markley. Ms. Steppe will serve a one-year term.

Joining Ms. Steppe is a group of women with a variety of personal, educational, and professional backgrounds who share the organization’s commitment to improving communities, promoting volunteerism and developing the potential of women. They are: Christine Yearing, President-Elect; Ameesha Hosmane, Administrative VP; Janine Wallace, Treasurer; Caroline Heyer, Assistant Treasurer; Laura Magedoff, Membership VP; Kate Walden, Community VP; Sarah Muhlstock, Assistant Community VP; Linda Massengill and Jane Schapker, Sustainer Co-VPs; Elizabeth Dutkewych, Thrift Shop Committee Chair; and Christie Frazer, PR/Marketing Chair.

Ms. Steppe and the Board of Directors will lead the organization this year in addressing the community’s toughest challenges. When asked what she hoped to achieve in her new role, Ms. Steppe said, “I am so honored and excited to be the 85th President of the Junior League of Summit. This year’s Board represents a dynamic group of smart, committed women who, along with my tireless Chairwomen and our dedicated members, will help me make this year one of our very best. We hope to celebrate our 85 years of service by increasing our visibility and making an even bigger impact in Summit, New Providence, Berkeley Heights, Chatham and Madison while focusing on supporting local non-profits and improving children’s lives."

Ms. Steppe joined the Junior League of Summit in 2007 and earned the prestigious JLS Volunteer of the Year Award in 2011. She has also held numerous leadership positions within the League such as New Member Project Co-Chair, Project Development Chair, New Member Chair and Membership VP. She actively volunteers at her children’s schools and provides pro bono recruiting and career development for law students and young lawyers. Ms. Steppe resides in Summit with her husband, Ryan, and two children, Alex and Ella.
