Junior League Sets Halloween Costume Event for October 3rd

SUMMIT, NEW JERSEY, September 23, 2013 – The Junior League of Summit Thrift Shop, 37 DeForest Ave., has announced its upcoming Halloween costume event will be held on Thursday, October 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The annual event features gently used adult and children’s costumes, as well as Halloween and fall housewares and decorations.

Costume prices are typically 50% less than full retail cost. The selection will be extensive with plenty of choices for boys and girls, with great buys under $15.

“We are pleased to offer an extensive variety of costumes and decorative home items at such affordable prices,” said Junior League of Summit president Colleen Markley, “When you shop at the Junior League of Summit Thrift Shop, you are not only getting a good deal, but you are also supporting the local community. All of the shop’s proceeds go directly back to the Junior League and are reinvested in the form of grants and funding for community projects.”

The Junior League of Summit Thrift Shop in Summit was established in 1934 and offers new and gently used clothing and shoes for men, women and children, toys, decorative items for the home, house wares, and furniture that is deeply discounted. It is the primary fundraiser for the Junior League of Summit and has provided the resources for the League’s many grants, projects, programs, and scholarships over the years. Since its inception, the Shop has raised over $3,000,000 to benefit Summit and surrounding communities. The Junior League of Summit Thrift Shop is one of only two thrift shops in New Jersey featured in the book, True Prep. The Shop accepts MC, Visa, and debit cards.
