Enzo Creative Graphic Design Work Featured on NBC’s George to the Rescue

See a unique project where graphic design helps improve and promote a positive and safe environment for teens.

The nationally televised George to the Rescue home improvement television show on NBC featured one of Enzo Creative’s latest graphic design projects. For the show, Enzo Creative was asked by Budget Blinds of Westfield to design quotes for large, motorized, retractable window shades that were to be used in the teen room at the Boys & Girls Club of Newark.

Taking the large sizes into account, as well as the fact that the window shades could be retracted in various positions, Enzo Creative designed shades with the Boys & Girls Clubs logo along with quotes from Shaquille O’Neal, Oprah Winfrey, Cory Booker, and more. The window shade designs spanned the entire length of the redesigned room; over 40 feet.

“It was nice to contribute our design expertise for a great cause, but nothing was more rewarding than seeing the kids interact with the new room during the show’s big reveal,” said Lou Leonardis, creative director at Enzo Creative. Newark mayor Cory Booker was present at the show and handled the reveal to the kids along with the show’s interior designers and contractors.

George to the Rescue is a weekly national home improvement program that airs on NBC, with George Oliphant as host. Oliphant and his team travel the nation “rescuing” the homes and spaces of deserving people. For this episode, the team redesigned the teen room at the Boys & Girls Club which was in need of renovation. The lack of available financial resources prevented the room from being updated and renovated for some time, until Oliphant and his crew became involved.

At the Boys & Girls Club of Newark, their mission is to provide opportunities for youth that empower them to succeed and excel as contributing members of society. This is accomplished by providing a safe environment, under the direction of caring and trained adults, where programs develop life skills, values, character and leadership, thereby helping young people realize their individual potential.
