A few years ago I served on a volunteer committee with Patrick Hurley; he was able to attend only one meeting, but made his views clearly known in person and online. To quote from an e-mail I received: Regarding liberals: “I firmly believe liberals are against the military and put our troops in danger by encouraging the terrorists. I don’t think they want us to win this war.” Regarding a neighbor of his: “I see the bumper stickers on the cars outside of his house during Democratic meetings and I am disgusted. With a few exceptions, what that party has been doing is a disgrace and it hurts our men and women in the military.” I personally believe that the United States has enough divisiveness and name-calling on a national level. Do we really need a Patrick Hurley, who spews venom at everyone he disagrees with, on Common Council? This has no place in Summit. I urge you to vote for Dennis White for Ward 2 and elect to Common Council a rational man who is determined to work for the benefit of our community.
