To the Editor:
The campaign flyers recently mailed to Summit residents by Michael Vernotico, are at the least very reprehensible in their accusations. They contain false and dangerous rhetoric against me.
Furthermore his attacks and nasty allegations against me are untrue and insulting as those he made against Eileen Forman Ludden, who is also running for Mayor. It only serves to confirm the ugliness Summit residents have seen him demonstrate on Council and the public has been sickened by his diatribes.
This sort of “campaign literature” is unbecoming a candidate for Mayor of the City of Summit, worse yet our Mayor for the next four years. In all my years of living and voting in Summit, never did I witness Janet Whitman, Walter Long, or Jordan Glatt employing such vitriol over another candidate.
Character counts and Mr. Vernotico’s is beginning to show. It is precisely why Mr. Glatt triumphed over Vernotico four years ago in the race for Mayor. His unstatesmanlike behavior is not what Summit deserves or needs to move forward together as a community.
I plan to set the record straight when I confront Mr. Vernotico in a public forum.
