Summit Village Green Goes to the Dogs

Families and their canine companions enjoyed a day in the park this past Saturday on the Village Green as Summit based Home for Good Dog Rescue celebrated its 3rd Annual Bark-A-Que and dog adoption. The event promotes dog adoption and the group’s efforts to unite shelter dogs with loving “forever families”.  Participants had the opportunity to learn about dog adoption, fostering and volunteering opportunities with the non-profit organization. A total of 27 dogs were adopted during the event.

The event also serves as a HFG Reunion. Returning adopters had the opportunity to meet with their dog’s foster family and find their adoption day photograph on “memory lane” which featured over 2,000 adoption photographs. Dog activities included an agility course and a costume parade. A popular favorite with the dogs was dog ice cream provided by Dogsters. The crowd was entertained by Magician Silly Willy and musical group Total Soul.

Local businesses and organizations participating in the Bark-A-Que included: NJSPCA, Bona-Fido, Urban Paws, The Nutro Company, Petco, Jojo's Bags and Things, Bark Point Studio, Skin Deep Salon & Spa, Murray Hill Veterinary Associates, Morris Animal Inn, VIPuppy Spa, Best Friends North Plainfield, Brownie Points, Bark at the Moon.  Food vendors included: The Mozz Boss, Pizza Vita and The Meat House.
