Meet Saul

Patrick is the Social Media Manager for the Douglas Auto Group which consists of Douglas Infiniti and Douglas Volkswagen in Summit, NJ.

When you speak with Saul Shevelove, Vice President of Douglas Auto Group, you are listening to a gentleman who for over 40 years has had a deep conviction on how an auto dealership should treat it's customers. "I have great compassion for the auto buying customers. Most dread walking into a dealership and having to see just another cars salesman. We've spent a long time debunking that notion at Douglas" says Saul.

Saul came to the Douglas Auto Group in 1970. He vividly remembers walking into his first meeting with a small legal pad wanting to know how Mr. Liebman, President of the Douglas Auto Group, ran his business. During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Douglas Auto Group doesn't sell cars, it sells a concept of integrity, professionalism and morality. Saul found Mr. Liebman's idea to be a breath of fresh air and has stuck behind these principles for 41 years at Douglas.

Saul started out in 1970 as the Used Car Manager. He worked his way up to the General Sales Manager and then eventually VP of Douglas Auto Group. Saul now spends a large portion of his time mentoring all of the Douglas employees with his vast knowledge and experience.  One of Saul's core philosophies he passes on to all Douglas employees is to "chip away at the customer to get them to see that they are dealing with a human being on the other end, not a salesperson." As Saul also says, "it's mission critical for Douglas customers to not only like the automobile they purchase but to be a fan of the salesperson and the company as well. The Douglas brand is what we are looking to promote."

In a fast-moving world where everyone is chasing the next dollar, its been a pleasure working under the tutelage and guidance of Saul Shevelove. It's refreshing to come to work everyday where a company is cemented in its principles, not it's bottom line.
