Congressman Presents Homeland Security Grant to Summit FD

Money will go toward purchasing three new thermal imaging camera.

Congressman Leonard Lance presented a Homeland Security grant to the Summit Fire Department Friday.

This grant, for $25,650, will be used to upgrade the department's three thermal imaging camera from 1999. Thermal imaging camera help firefighters locate victims inside burning buildings and also enable them to see each other and the newer units measure the temperature of the fire.
