Elizabeth Man Charged In Accident That killed FDNY firefighter In Union County

An Elizabeth man has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated for a crash that killed New York City firefighter John Monteverde in Union County last October, according to nj.com.

Anthony Marsal , 24, had a blood-alcohol level over three times the legal limit and cocaine in his system when he allegedly struck the motorcycle Monteverde, 57, was riding to work, according to nj.com.

The 31-year FDNY veteran died from multiple internal and external injuries due to the collision, which caused him to be thrown off of his 2004 Suzuki, according to nj.com.
