Firefighters Donate Wii to Overlook's Pediatric Recreation Room

Matt Klapper and Mike Mammone won Nintendo gaming system for their fundraising efforts at the 19th Annual Scott Firefighter Stair Climb.

Firefighters Mike Mammone and Matt Klapper raised more the $12,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through their participation in the 19th Annual Scott Firefighter Stair Climb. The firefighters joined 1,500 other firefighters from around the country and the globe in a race to the top of Seattle's Columbia Tower. The race up 69 stories, done in full gear and on supplied air, is the largest single firefighter competition in the world.

One of the prizes Mammone and Klapper received for their fundraising was a Nintendo Wii, which they donated to the Overlook Hospital pediatric recreation room on Sept. 11.
