Operation "Take Back NJ" Returns to Summit Saturday

The Summit Police Department is giving residents another opportunity to safely dispose of prescription drugs.

On Saturday, October 29, The Summit Police Department with the help of the Drug Enforcement Operation will be participating in Operation Take Back NJ. This is an opportunity for the public to safely dispose of unwanted or unused prescription pills and prevent pill abuse and accidental injury due to the ingestion of expired or dangerous medications.

The Summit Police Department notes that residents can bring these medications to Summit City Hall Lobby, 512 Springfield Avenue in Summit. This is a safe, easy, eco-friendly way to dispose of potentially life threatening, unwanted medications. No questions will be asked.

With prescription drug addiction on the rise, Operation Take Back NJ is dedicated to preventing these harmful pills from falling into the wrong hands. To find out more about Operation Take Back NJ, visit the organization's home page.
