Summit Pedestrian Struck by Car Thanks All Who Assisted

Summit resident Nicole Neusch said the response of all who came to her rescue made her 'very proud' to be a Summit resident.

A Summit woman who was struck by a car while crossing Summit Avenue at Bank Street Wednesday afternoon is thanking the Summit Police and Fire Departments, Volunteer First Aid Squad and passersby who came to her aid.

Nicole Neusch said she is "doing okay" following the accident, which occurred at 1:20 p.m., and is "mostly banged up and bruised. Nothing is broken."

Neusch contacted Patch Friday morning to express her "sincerest gratitude to the bystanders, EMTs, firefighters and police."

"There were so many people at the scene that I wish I knew," Neusch said. "The care I was given in the middle of the street by the residents was amazing. The police and EMTs were there within seconds. I am so grateful to be alive and doing ok. Despite getting hit by a car, I am very proud to be a Summit resident today."

Summit Police said the driver who struck Neusch was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
